the important changes and updates08-22-02
so its the end of the summer and we have yet to finish the recording. we started it in january and it still isn't done. and don't get me wrong, its not like it is just taking us this long to do it, we just aren't doing anything about it. its not going to sound like a recording that has been slaved over for a year. we have the rhythm tracks done, just nothing else. we have to do a second guitar track, vocals, back up vocals and horns left. that should take a few more years to accomplish...
so any way, i'd like to thank zac, warren, steve and kyle for selling shirts for us at the show at the flywheel on the 21st. you guys done a good job. also thanks to you who was forced to purchase them. without your support, we wouldn't make new stuff for you to be forced to buy. also thanks to the fitchburg crew for coming down and supporting us. it means alot, it really does...
but yea, i am redoing the web page as you see. hopefully it comes out nice. i have some ideas for it and i need regina to send the wonderful pictures that she has taken for us over, so i can do it up hardcore. yes. sure. the ska band will rock again...
but the cd will be out sometime. i am not giving up on this recording. along with it i am going to make some new shirts and get some patches going. maybe i will even design for some pins. so stick around, and come check us out. soon enough we will get on a regular practice schedule and come up with a new arsenal of songs to dish out for you little punks. we have written a brand new one, and its by far my favorite to play and we started another one and i think it will fit nicely in rotation. i can't wait to start over again, its been along time coming. but yea, heres to the new site. uh, arr!05-14-02
so yea. we will record this summer! i promise. ugh. well i don't promise, but i want to if that counts for anything...maybe? so yea. the design for the tshirts is done. i printed a couple up for myself just to see what they looked like, i have only gotten positive comments except from farron because he pissed about how they were off center (like you're on center farron, shut the fuck up). any way. we will be making some prints for the show in fitchburg, only twenty though. we will make a bunch for the big d/skarmy show at msc. so be there to pick up your shirt! awesome. i'm done now.04-18-02
so yea, i started working on a design for tshirts/patches, i made six patches and realized the way i was doing it was very impractical. i had my brother teacher me how to do the photo emulsion method on a silk screen, so hopefully i can get something going this weekend. heres to the ska band merchandise. ahh. yea. the skarmy ska band fourth of july world tour 2002, what? i don't know. people don't tell me anything. wait no, thats waffle waffle.04-04-02
well the battle of the bands at fitchburg state college was great. we didn't win but we made alot of new friends and had a good time. and thats better than winning! yes. but yea, we have a few local shows coming up in the next couple months, you should come check us out. also i have seen a few shows being held near where i go to school, so i might stop down there and see if we can get a show. and lastly, i started (last weekend) on some stencils for the silk screen. i will do some test runs with it, i don't know if i want to do patches or tshirts, we'll have to see how they come out. well that is enough for now.02-24-02
i'm trying to make some nice patches. we'll see what i can do. i can't do much, can i? whatever. anyway, the show on the second of march was cancelled for some reason which i am unaware of. sorry if anyone was planning on going to it. yea. ok.01-27-02
well, i started redoing the page. i went on a streak for a little while doing it, maybe i will say on the ball this time. yea right. anyway. the ska band has just develved into production on recording their first full length. we are going to (try) to record eleven songs or so to finally get recording out on the market. farron paul and myself started laying out some tracks today and look forward to seeing this out in march. keep checking the webpage for audio, because i will hopefully be adding some of the rough takes/ partially completed songs up. awesome.10-29-01
i would first like to note that the show on halloween has been cancelled. so don't waste your trick or treating time heading over to johns house cause their ain't no more rock candy for you. also, coming soon will be a brand new ska band page with all sorts of crazy material. stay tuned for that. with love.10-21-01
more shows put up on the shows page! whoo hoo! yes my friends, that is a show in vermont. that would be our first out of state show for the ska band. we will soon be a multi-state band! yes yes, i am excited. probably more than i should be. but yea. this is the new news.10-16-01
the consensus and my own personal opinion have aided me in deciding to try to make this page a little nicer (that and i have nothing better to do on a tuesday afternoon). i am working rigorusly to meet your needs and standards to fix this website up. one day i might be creative and get something good out, but for now, what you see is what you get.10-10-01
well i finished up the page finally. i added some new links and then finished putting up the pictures. hopefully someday i will put some more up, but first i have to find some and then scan them. with due time..10-01-01
well first things, we had to make a new web page because homestead had to delete our page because we didn't want to pay a monthly fee. so back to trusty freeservers i go...
also, we have a new member to the ska band. he has played with us few times before, but now he is officially in the band. the local superhero dennis oconner is now in the ska band family. he will not only add his talents on his trombone, but he will also lend his vocals to spice up the ska band language. great things to come...
we played pearl street the other night, and let me tell you, that was the best all around show we have ever played. pearl street, of course, were being dicks to us because farron was late picking up joe in westfield. they weren't allowing a guest list because the bands playing weren't profitable enough. the sound fucks were making fun of me because i "left half my set at home". they made nick and i go outside and use the pay phone to call farron. and they also stuck a ska band with a bunch of metal bands, to, uh, mix the show up a little. anywhos, nick made fun of pearl street all night so we are not going to be able to rock that joint no more. or hearts are truely saddened.
